Consultation Complete, Plan Examination to Begin

Thank you to everyone who made comments to the Reg 16 consultation. We’re happy to report that the plan received multiple comments during its Regulation 16 consultation through West Devon Borough Council.

We are approaching the final stage of the process where West Devon will be passing the plan to an examiner who will check that the plan satisfies the basic conditions, is in alignment with the Joint Local Plan and National Planning Policy and whether it should move forward to Referendum.

Timeline to Referendum

The current anticipated timeline for the review is that it will take place in November/December with a review at the WDBC full council in January or March with the final referendum for you, the residents of Tavistock, to vote on in either March or May 2025. This will be the first planning document to apply to Tavistock Parish specifically and we hope that you and other residents will support it at referendum and finally have a say on development in Tavistock.

Remembrance Day

Wishing all of our residents well as we approach Remembrance Day. We’re grateful to all those who served and fought on behalf of this country so that we can enjoy this wonderful market town.
