Tavistock Neighbourhood Development Plan
Autumn 2022 Update

Over the summer we collated the data from the residents survey we carried out in the spring. We have expanded the steering group and have appointed a specialist project manager, with a wealth of relevant experience and expertise, to guide and assist us as we develop our plan in the coming years.

We are going to focus on six key topics hightlighted in the survey results:

Business & Enterprise
Community Facilities
Heritage
Housing
 Landscape & Environment
Transport/connectivity

We aren’t holding this month’s public meeting as turnout was low at the summer meeting. Because engagement with local residents is vital for the success of the plan, we’re embracing another option. We had a lot of good feedback from events that we attended during the survey period and meeting with many local community and heritage groups, sports clubs, business associations, charities and churches around Tavistock when they are already meeting appears to be a great way to engage different groups in the area.

Therefore, the steering group would very much like to hear from you and ask if you would invite steering group members to attend meetings to update your members on the plan and get feedback. Contact us via email to request a visit!

Steering Group members will be hosting a stall at the Tamar Energy Fest at Butchers Hall on 12th November 2022. This will be an opportunity for visitors to give their ideas and input on the draft aims and visions of the plan to date.

When we have developed our aims and visions for the topics, we will present the draft work in a public forum. If anyone would like to contribute ideas, comments or get involved, contact [email protected]

In the meantime, you can keep up to date with our activity by visiting this website where you will find minutes of the regular steering group meetings.

Also, we have a calendar of events. We will be hosting stalls at weekend markets around Christmas and New Year. Do come by for a chat! Other initiatives to keep you connected will appear in the local press and on social media, in due course.

As always, we thank you for your enthusiam and support.
